LindenLab acquires XStreetSL and Onrez

LindenLab has recently acquired Second Life selling platforms online XStreetSL and Onrez. XStreetSL would be apparently chosen at the expense of Onrez. (Don't forget to migrate your shops before the February 11, 2009).

Why to have chosen XStreetSL instead of Onrez ?

Onrez has a much clearer interface and an products administration, no fees on sales, the ability to offer products to another avatar, payment method allow you to split profits, inworld vendor, categorization of products by tag and short URL.

XStreetSL is faster for delivery in Second Life, but has fees on each sale. It also offers a system for lands sale, it is multilingual and the XStreetSL community being bigger, it seems logical that LindenLab chose it. Hoping, that they will keep the Onrez advantages and that they will integrate them in XStreetSL and that they will not apply the fees per sale.

To allow the importation of 3D Mesh or improve the Prim Tools ?

At present, Second Life does not allow the import of 3D Mesh (direct import of file formats .OBJ,3DS...), we have to use the models of sculpties by taking into account their constraint. If you wish to import your 3D objects created on your 3D software (Blender, Wings 3D, Maya, 3D Max...) in Second Life, vote for allowing the import of 3D Mesh in the Second Life.

Linden Lab and ADS Farm

Since the announcement of Lindenlab about the deletion of the advertising some owners - lands of 16sqm -connected them in order to persuade that it was not any more a question of Ads Farm. Then they put their lands on sale for prohibitive prices. Recently a land's baron - specialist of the scrap of block 16sqm - set up on these lands gambling machines instead of the advertising.

When Linden will react as it is necessary to avoid this kind of drift, because such persons tempt by all the means to by-pass the law. And more especially because gambling machines are not authorized in SL ( money games forbidden).
